Committed to the Cause:

In 2013 Detroit was in over 18 Billion USD of debt. This left many people homeless and the government didn't have the resources or supplies to enable mass means of assistance. Over the years Detroit has made steady economic progress, but amid the Coronavirus Pandemic, more people than ever are losing their houses, jobs, and family to this situation.

In November 2020, when COVID-19 was at a peak, Heal The Hungry started off as a group of students wanting to see improvement in their local community and provide nutritious meals for impoverished families. We got straight to work and assembled a team of several hardworking students with Krish and Nithilan taking up the roles of Co-Presidents, and Raghav and Riya being Vice Presidents. We worked for weeks designing a logo, contacting professionals, and presenting to potential contributors. Through mad amounts of paperwork and sleepless nights, we finally set up the necessary infrastructure to provide such families with the food that they need during these unprecedented times. However, we still need your help. We need more contributors to ensure that we can continue to make arrangements for these families to get food free of cost. Even though it might seem trivial to donate to others while the economy in such a dire situation, we strongly urge you to consider donating any amount. Only "We the people can help the people."
