Process

It was a long journey to get to where we are today, it started out as a group of students wanting to make a change in March, 2020. Then we started brainstorming about issues we cared about when Krish and Raghav suggested that we donate to India and everyone agreed so our project began. The four of us (Krish, Sruthi, Raghav, and Somya) took weeks to design a logo, contact experienced people who might be willing to help, come up with a solid plan, set up social media pages and work on our website. We contacted people like Sneha Mohandoss and relatives in India to set up where we would donate and to make sure it is going to a reliable source. The website and logo were also a lot of work since there were so many glitches and components to add. Setting up a GoFundMe and contacting people to donate was the next step we took. Countless emails were sent and we reached out to many people asking if they wanted to donate and help make a difference. We talked to our families, friends, and communities over the next couple of weeks and many chose to help. Even our principal generously donated $100 dollars on behalf of our school. We made videos and posts on social media to spread the word to more people. We ran into some issues along the way like people not responding to our messages or spending a bunch of time emailing people when the emails weren’t real but we learned from all of that and in the end we were able to reach our goal of $1,500. Now we are so happy that all of our time and effort will allow children in India to gain better education and have more opportunities to be successful.
